This is my favorite show. I came across it one day while randomly surfing Hulu.. It was pretty interesting, and I surprised myself by continuing to watch it, even though I thought anime was weird.

This is the main character, Luffy. The show is about his adventures as he travels the world to fulfill his life's dream of becoming the pirate king. He is not your stereotypical pirate.

Here, he helps a discouraged enemy back up. He has compassion on everyone, and he's ridiculously friendly. He ends up becoming friends with almost all his enemies because he's a great guy.

This is one of the very rare times that he actually shows how wise he is. He's generally light hearted and resiliently optimistic. This is a difficult time for the crew he has gathered, and as the captain, he has a certain grave responsibility to them.

Here he climbs carrying a fallen comrade with his teeth, in a fierce blizzard, up a massive vertical cliff, bloody from previous attacks, to find the only doctor who can save his comrades. His determination to fulfill his dreams and ensure the welfare of his friends is limitless.

He says the encaptioned words with a huge anticipation and grin, knowing that he is entering the most dangerous unknown.

Generally, he acts immature, simple minded, hilariously comical.

Very simple minded.

He sure likes food. Too bad I don't have a picture of when he's FINISHED eating.

Here, not comprehending what sickness is, he is attempting to make a very sick crew member smile with the things he (thinks everyone) likes the most;  funny face and the name of his favorite food.
